So i'm in the middle of my project proposal to win the tender for the launch of the Ryder Cup and golf exhibition etc. when it struck me that the eurovision was on next week. So I checked and it turns out that my presentation (counts for 20%) of my grade is on the thursday. Not a huge deal, it's only the semifinals but then......i realised that the final is on 20 May. Now this is not any ordinary saturday, oh no, its the date of the bon jovi concert in croke park! its not fair. two of the things that i have looked forward to most in the month of may and theyre on the same day. of course bon jovi will be a great gig but i know that while its going on, my heart will be pining for all the dodgy songs that eurovision always seems to come up with....lets just hope jon bon jovi wears leather trousers again, i know that sure perked me up last time! ;)

right, back to my project. stupid last minute thing where i only bother to start it less than 24 hours before its due. not bad by my college standards but i have work all day tomorrow so theres no way i can do a little bit here, a little bit there, nope its a must not get distracted, focus on the work thing...and to think i chose to put myself through this. yup am definitely crazy!

If you could go back in time and do your college degree over, what would you choose and why?

This is quite a difficult question because I would probably still pick the same course, because if I hadn’t done the same course, I wouldn’t have the friends I have now or the experiences that have helped shape me. I know I continually go on about having done the wrong course and that’s probably true, especially since I’m interested in doing business now, but I don’t really regret my course, only my results! And I did have a few extenuating circumstances, don’t you think?!

Why do you love Halloween so much and when did this obsession start?

I think I love Halloween in Ireland because until I suppose this year really, it wasn’t really commercial and it was a fun holiday. The fact that it’s 3 days before my bday helps a bit too. ;) It’s also a cheap holiday and it lets grownups have a bit of fun too. Of course the fact that it indulges my desire to dress up once in a while never hurts.

I’ve loved Halloween as long as I can remember. It was always a party around my area. Plus from 10-13, I was always sick on Halloween, stupid cubs and their hikes up mountains that my delicate inner ear couldn’t take, so I have to make up for it now that I’m older!

Have you ever done creative writing for your own sake (ie. Not for school etc)?

The short answer to this was no but then I remembered writing a story about myself and Prince William. I was probably about 13/14 and it was quite soppy if I remember correctly. That is the one and only time though. Its never appealed to me as much as reading because I’m well aware of my limitations and I would never force my bad writing on anyone, unlike a certain Taoiseach’s daughter I could mention! Also, I never liked English in school so it never inspired me to put pen to paper. Maybe I was a big nationalist head when I was a kid and objected strongly to the use of English as a language full stop. Well, it’s a theory anyway.

If you had to do a face/off swap of faces with one of your friends, whose face would you choose? (Not necessarily the same as the one you think is most attractive)

This one is a little difficult. I would never really think of swapping a face with anyone. It would have been much easier if you asked me about swapping a body. To be honest, I’m quite happy with my own face and wouldn’t want to swap but if I had to, I’d choose Alex. Hers is a very expressive face and even in repose there’s a bit of a smile. I associate her with fun and laughter and I think that is what I would be giving others with her face…It also helps that she’s a hottie!

What is your favourite piece of art?
You know my opinion by now on art. I’m not a huge fan. Monet is my favourite painter and there are lots of his that I like equally but I suppose the only artist I’ve ever bought (and carried 4,000 miles home) is Shishkin and "A day in the pine forest. I like it because it’s quite true to life and it has really cute bears in it! I suppose as well, it’s one of those paintings where you can keep going back to it and find something new in it every time…

I am soo tired today. Why is it that even though I had a long weekend, it already feels like I need another break? I suppose it didn’t help that I was working last night until 11pm.

On that note, I do have to say it was kind of worth it. The Kaiser Chiefs were playing Dublin Castle so apart from the fact that it was majorly chilly, there were no real downsides to working. I got to work in the disabled area, which meant a really good view of the stage. KC were brilliant and my advice to everyone is that if you have a chance to go see them, do! Even if you don’t like their stuff, they’re very good live. For those of you who do like their stuff, the new album sounds pretty good.

Apart from working KC, I went to snow patrol on Saturday. It was so much fun. Thye were brilliant and their new album also sounds fab…of course im not actually going to buy it, im going to find someone else who has already bought it and then burn it! I am becoming incredibly cheap but since this is the week I start seriously saving, I kind of have to be!

Meeting up with the ex-boyf tomorrow for lunch. He just started working down the road from me so that means I have to wear make up ALL the time! Soo much effort but at least I have my new pared down palette courtesy of benefit! Am also in a bit of a quandary as to what to wear. I was thinking proper working girl clothes, i.e. pencil skirt, the works but now that the weather is now cooperating anymore, I think I might have to wear trousers, which don’t flatter half as much! Any advice would be much appreciated. We are aiming for, in essence, the pussycat dolls don’t cha or however you spell it, basically, im so hot and you wish we were still together but I don’t want you back. Vv complicated and quite hard to pull off methinks. Stressful, much?! Stupid ex-boyfs, why they don’t just leave the country is beyond me. So much less hassle!

So I thought I should really update since I haven’t since before I went away. Been too lazy I suppose. Plus the whole typing all day at work means it’s effort at home then.

New york was fabulous. Spent an obscene amount of money and did fit some cultural stuff in. it was mainly about the shopping though. Bought lots of great things, mainly for work but some for play! Managed to meet lux_alexander who took me on an interesting tour to Soho, which was well appreciated by myself and the girls. Best buy has to be my jem and the holograms tshirt and sweatpants (soo in with the lingo!).

Apart from that I got an interview for the internship in New York I applied for so hopefully ill get that. The interview is in Edinburgh so I get to go there for holidays as well. Trincesstiara is going to accompany me along with non-lj ppl, who will no doubt encourage me to do embarrassing things and capture them on camera for bebo.

I am no longer even possibly going to Japan. Got offered an alternate spot but have completely lost the will to go there. Instead, if my NY thing falls through, I will hopefully be doing a masters in international management. It means I will be dividing my time between boston and reutlingen/dcu while getting into major debt due to the cost of the masters and also the cost of living in the US and not technically being able to work there! Btw, lux_Alexander, its northeastern uni in boston…would be great if you knew something about it? I know theyre called the huskies but that’s pretty much it, oh and they have fabulous squash courts. What more could a girl want, right?

Ok, enough waffle. This is what happens when one is at work and wants to avoid doing any. Oh well, now that noone can see my screen, I might just play a bit of minesweeper for a while…

So i don't know if anyone actually read the little bit in the irish times about how we won colours and more importantly how the ladies fourth team (that would be my team) were the ONLY ladies team to actually win their match against the oiks so if you didnt know already, well there you go! so mesa very very happy!! my last ever colours *rubs a tear from eye* and we won! it was a lot of fun as well. started drinking at 1 (very reserved really, most ppl were drinking since 10) and then went to the ball, where i got quite drunken and ended up flirting lots. no scoring though cos the guys were more drunk than i was plus i really wasnt sure they were strictly "legal" in the whole, i am SO not scoring a fresher sense...ended up in clonshaugh and then got a taxi home costing megabucks...oops but sure im earning and it turns out that i can stay in this job now until pretty much when i leave for wherever so happy days! now must go check flights for st. petersburg...

(almost forgot that one!?!) so yeah lux_alexander had better be in nyc the week after paddys day so that i can get shown around by a real new yorker! okay am vvv tired so going for a snooze. also my hair isnt that blonde yet but its getting there. i get away with so much stupider stuff when im blonde, i totally forgot that, go figure!

so now life has done a uturn on me and i am now busy in the evenings well except for tuesdays but thereagain i need at least one day to chill, yes? so my week goes like this: monday - work, hockey; tuesday - work, chill; wednesday - work, football (GAA fyi); thursday - work, hockey; friday - work, alcohol; saturday - hockey, hockey, hockey; sunday - driving lessons.

tired just looking at it but will be super fit come march, which is all good! am bit nervous about the driving lessons, dont want to make a complete fool of myself and also im getting picked up by them at home so its going to be doubly embarrassing cos everyone is going to know about it.

anyways nothing much interesting going on, works going well, have lots of money saved so happy out. heading to ny (fingers crossed) end of march so will be able to bring gifts over for ppls or bring stuff home. also the plan is to get a lovely new ibook and sell my old one, i do love this one but i want a wireless enabled bigger screened larger memory laptop.

anyways must go now, have new icon that i snaffled. kinda like it, its pretty much me constantly in work whenever the judicature paper is in the printer! it always goes badly and then the trees that ive helped chop down dance across my eyes. not good!

New Years was fun. spent it in ucd with trincesstiara and sluzan. much fun was had although i am feeling the aftereffects!

the scary thing that happened tho was a big huge wasp the size of which i have never seen before. SO SCARED!! aoife was there also so i ran while she opened the door to make it go out. i hid in the sitting room and wouldnt let aoife in until she promised that the wasp was gone. i realise the above sounds pretty pathetic but wasps are scary and also bad previous experience, plus it was totally looking to sting cos it was on its last legs. now to curl up on the sofa and tremble from the aftereffects of the very scarring experience!!

i have decided to become a humbug. this is the first year where i am still trying to get xmas presents. i really hate panic buying so i have decided everyone i havent gotten yet is getting an iou in the sales, perfect! otherwise i will follow maeritrae's example although i was thinking of a camel or rabbits. depends whether i feel rich or not in the next few days! altho i should probably be getting my goddaughter something concrete, but shes only 3! i think a charity donation would be so much better (and easier). i did try searching for dora the explorer but so far no joy. oh well, what can you do? also everytime i come home, my mum has put up yet another decoration, i cannot live like this! ok i go overboard with halloween but in fairness at least its not christmas!

in other news, i have joined a gym so in 6 months, if i so choose to, i can run the mini marathon. of course cos its a tupid gym instead of fitness as my main concern, which it actually is, they have weight loss as my motivation. yes im feeling pudgy at the mo but seriously, i can stop eating if i want to lose the weight. and who joins a gym just BEFORE xmas to lose weight? crazy ppl but i cant really complain, i now have 18mins free sunbed sessions, oh wait do i actually want these sessions - no! so if anyone wants them, they're very welcome to them.

thats about it, been abusing my liver all weekend but im happy cos ive only 5 more days to get up before im on hols. and this year my hols might not be that long but since im not in college finishing on fri and not being back til the 2nd is a good deal for me. my dinner is calling so must go.
